I need new clothes and, serendipitously, I got an email from Old Navy advertising $10 sweaters. So I went in, picked out a few things and meandered my way back to the clearance section where I stumbled upon the most adorable espadrilles.
(I should say: It’s really hard for me to find shoes that fit. Wide feet, small ankles, I am not a cobbler’s key demographic, it seems.)
After seeing these and having them fit, I knew I wanted them, but, they didn’t have a price tag on them. I found someone who worked there and had him look them up on his price checker.
“Please let it be a number I like.” I.E. $20 and under
“Hmm, well that’s interesting,” he said.
Crap! They’re $35 aren’t they? No wonder there were no others like them over there! Someone put them back in the wrong place!
He turned the device around so I could see it and it read
TWO DOLLARS AND FORTY-SEVEN CENTS!!!!
Don’t know, don’t care how or why that is possible.
So I bought them. Along with a pair of ankle boots, a sweater, a pair of jeans, 2 pairs of gloves and a winter jacket. 🙂
