It’s Pride Weekend

‎”Ignorance and hatred break my heart. I wish people would understand that it’s not about Tracy Morgan or free speech. F him. It’s about the fact that when an LGBTQ youth hears that they are evil and should die, then there need to be voices louder that say, ‘It’s not true. You are loved. We need you alive.'”
-Bassey Ikpi

Earlier today I was reading the twitter page of a friend of a friend.

He said that when he told his mom he was gay the first thing out of her mouth was, “Where did I go wrong?” She also wondered why he had to tell everyone and not just keep it to himself.

“No one would choose to walk this road of being gay if they didn’t have to.”

I wish I could do more than just be an ally.
