Every so often I wonder

if I’ll grow out of my no babies stance, if one day I will want to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet, but then I think about:

autism, bullying, childcare costs, child molestation, drowning, eating disorders, education (physical, spiritual, ecological, mental), fossil fuels, gender dysphoria, global warming, hate crimes, holidays, intersex-related identity issues, kids’ movies & tv shows, leukemia, laundry, making lunch, misogyny, nights without sleep, puberty, resentment, saving for college, science projects, taking time alone and not feeling guilty about it, vanishing bees, wiping away tears, xenophobia, and yellow fever and other rare diseases that I would find to obsess over.

And then I’m glad that I live in country where boys are allergic to me.

About J.

A former twentysomething with a head full of curls and heart full of questions wondering: when we get to nirvana, will there be food?
