It’s a sad day

On Sunday night, I went to dinner with a bunch of students and teachers from Toronto. I was talking with one of the teachers about race and said that in Vancouver I felt that I was

  1. American
  2. Female
  3. Black
as opposed to here where I feel
  1. Black
  2. Female
  3. American
The fact that he had to release his birth certificate (and that there are people who still don’t believe) is just…
I’m speechless.

If this is the America we give our kids, I will be doing Charlie Sheen amounts of  birth control until the day I die.

About J.

A former twentysomething with a head full of curls and heart full of questions wondering: when we get to nirvana, will there be food?
