On Risk Aversion

While gardening this morning (yay Earth Day), I came up with this scenario:

Someone comes up to me and offers me brand new clothes from The Gap for the rest of my life, but I can’t see them beforehand and can’t return them in the event that they don’t fit. I can try on and return clothes from Old Navy and Banana Republic, but absolutely nothing from The Gap. And if I accept this offer, I can’t wear any other clothes from any other store ever.

That’s kinda how I see having kids.

And I’m if too risk averse when it comes to chinos, I’m definitely too risk averse when it comes to children.
