I worked in the kitchen last night and blah blah blah vanilla custard

We serve this with the donuts so I had to come home and make it.

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 tablespoon sea salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon Grand Marnier

Combine dry.

Scald milk.

Temper yolks.

Bring everything to a boil over medium, whisking throughout.

Take off heat and add butter, vanilla, alcohol.

Let cool (if you can).

ENJOY.
