We serve this with the donuts so I had to come home and make it.
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/8 tablespoon sea salt
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 tablespoon Grand Marnier
Combine dry.
Scald milk.
Temper yolks.
Bring everything to a boil over medium, whisking throughout.
Take off heat and add butter, vanilla, alcohol.
Let cool (if you can).
