A reenactment

Walk down the frozen aisle at TJs

Why should you spend the time when you can just microwave? Don’t you deserve to microwave your food? This is America after all.

I wonder what’s in this. How bad can it be?

Ignoring that the calories from fat comprise almost 70% of the total calories,

  5. Skim milk
  6. Corn Flour
  7. Salt
  8. Xanthan Gum (Corn)
  9. Guar Gum  (Corn)
  10. Citric Acid (Corn)
  11. Potatoes
  12. Palm/Sunflower oil
  13. Wheat dextrose (dextrose is usually derived from corn)
  14. Sodium diphosphate
  15. Onions
  16. Water
  17. Butter
  18. Basil
  19. Parsley
  20. Salt
  21. Palm/Sunflower oil

If I were making this it would have:
  1. Eggs

  4. Olive oil or butter
  5. Salt

I didn’t buy it.

In TJ’s defense if you count all the corn based ingredients as one, that’s really only 21 ingredients, not 26. In all seriousness, breakfast foods that are convenient (read:McGriddles or this scramble thing) are usually the worst foods for you. I wonder why…

You would really think a food company’s first priority would be to keep people healthy so that they can live longer and buy more product.
