Things I Ate Today

A day of firsts.

Breakfast: a cherimoya.
Fast becoming one of my favorite fruits. It’s a shame the season is so short.

Lunch: Venison burger with white truffle popcorn and buttermilk cupcake.

God bless the Vizzi truck–and I’m not just saying that because my friend’s boyfriend works on it. It is absolutely delicious. Smart, well-balanced, well-executed food.

Dinner: Merguez sausage pizza with spinach and feta, and a chopped salad.
Pitfire is one of those places that I’ve driven by and thought to myself, “I should check that out,” but never had. Then tonight, the family I worked for is friends with the people who run it, so the kids and I had a pizza night.  I can’t wait to try more from them.

About J.

A former twentysomething with a head full of curls and heart full of questions wondering: when we get to nirvana, will there be food?
