Let the Rain

The first time I met Sara was 2006/2007, one of those, at The Mint in Little Ethiopia. I was there to see my friend Jane. Sara and I were at the bar together and ended up talking for about 30 mins or so before I had any idea who she was. (I’d heard of her independent of her burgeoning mainstream success because she’d done a cappella at UCLA and a friend dated a guy who competed against her…or something.) I love LA for things like that.

Of all the songs on her new album, which I am obsessed with, I have listened to this one the most.

And since LA is having an identity crisis from just shy of semi-arid to temperate rainforest…

About J.
