Garden Day & Great News

This past Saturday was Garden Day meaning a bunch of kids–high schoolers and girl scouts–came out to help water, weed and paint. One of the neighbors came by with her daughter and brought us all pupusas with homemade salsa. 🙂  I was 2nd in charge so I spent a lot of time directing the HS kids, looking at ladybugs with the little kids and translating English/Spanish.

I loved it.

First bit of great news: One of the teachers who was there wants me to come into her class to help kids with reading comprehension.

Second bit of great news: My mom works for the city and she had a meeting tonight with the guy who runs the garden (and whom I’ve yet to meet). He told her that they are in love with me and want me to head up operations when they bring this program to a nearby elementary school. That is, if I were interested. 🙂

This garden is the only thing that makes me want to stay in LA. I only wish it paid my bills like it pays my spirit.

I hope this turns into something that will pay you as much as you deserve!
