Fresh & Easy. Trader Joe’s. Whole Foods.

The three stores I went to today in order to make:

Jicama Salad
Chicken-Chorizo Patty Melt
Homemade Sausage (for tomorrow morning)

Substitutions:
Petit Basque, delightfully mild sheep’s milk cheese for the Jarlsberg
Spanish chorizo instead of Mexican because I prefer it
Louisiana instead of Frank’s Red Hot
Whole wheat naan
No ketchup

I’ll see how the sausage is in the morning but, so far, this is delicious!

And what makes it even better is

this great guide Whole Foods has that breaks down into 5 different “steps” the treatments of the animals you buy, broken down by: broiler chickens, pigs and beef cattle.

My ground chicken was a Step 3 and the ground pork was Step 1. 🙂

Now back to eating.

About J.

A former twentysomething with a head full of curls and heart full of questions wondering: when we get to nirvana, will there be food?
