Remember when I got the best sandwich ever at Vinoteque? Well I updated my status about it on Facebook saying:
I thought that the best sandwich I had ever had was The Jack at Baby Blues BBQ in Venice. Delicious, but no. Wrong. False. Enjoy runner-up status. The best sandwich is the patty melt at Vinoteque on Melrose: wagyu beef, onion jam, sundried tomato, a fried egg and harissa mayo, on sourdough. It…I can’t even…I just need to lie down now.
A few days later I got a friend request from a woman I didn’t know. She was covering her face with her hands and we had no mutual friends which would normally lead me to decline the invite but then I noticed that she had Vinoteque’s contact info under her personal information. I thought maybe she’d been a hostess some time that I’d been there?
I wrote to her and said, “I can’t see your face. Do you work at Vinoteque?”
She responded, “Actually My Dear, I am the owner and wanted to post a huge Thank You note on your page for the wonderful review! I also wanted to extend a personal invitation to come back with a treat to be determined when you introduce yourself in the flesh! I often hide in the office, so please come in and pull me out of my cave & book keeping! Warm Wishes-”
What????? 😀
I–what is my life? I am speechless.
Between this and the email I got last night and everything else great and getting greater, I am just…very very grateful.
