The original recipe is posted here but I made a few substitutions:
1. A stick of butter instead of oil (because dairy makes things awesome)
2. Semisweet chocolate (I’m not grown up enough for dark just yet)
3. 1/3 cup of coconut nectar instead of cane sugar (slowly breaking my sugar addiction)
4. I couldn’t find black bean flour. I know I saw it in Vancouver so I wonder if it’s a Canadian thing. I was going to try just using the brown rice or mixing it with cake flour or something that I already have but Trader Joe’s had peanut flour for $2 which I thought made a complementary flavor combination so I went with that. I’ve learned that peanut flour has a very strong taste, so next time I plan to use 1/2 as much. Right now they taste like peanut butter-chocolate brownies.
I love them. 🙂
