After being reminded that he’s working his dream job assignment out of town this weekend.

Me: Oh…I was going to try and convince you to drive home with me. *pauses* If you didn’t have this [admittedly amazing opportunity that I will term “distraction” because I am selfish], would I have been successful?
Him: Definitely.

Note: As much as this may say about how he feels about me, I’m equally taken with what it says about the way he lives his life. I’m such a planner. I admire people who can be truly spontaneous.
